1st and 2nd weeks - Concept Pitch, Design Document & Code (Marina Martins)


This last weeks were intense!

We took this really interesting game idea from colleagues from Belas Artes to develop. After a really long brainstorming and document writing to define the gameplay and mechanics, I started to assemble the slides used in the Concept Pitch presentation last Monday. 

We were able to do a few meetings with the Arts crew to get in the same page. The difficulty of last week was "What camera should we use?". We decided on First Person Camera

Also added a few content on Trello I felt it was missing.

I also started with the Inventory System the player will have access during the game. Halfway done, it will be used to store, stack, use and drop items that come in handy for the player, such as maps, keys to open doors, and so and so.

For the this week we gave a boost on the Game Design Document since we had some personal issues. I started with creating the majority of the structure of the document and design. Helped with the Scenarios, Inspiration/References, Target Audience, User Interface and Team.

I also followed the tutorial below by Brackeys on a First Person Movement and Camera, being this my second prototype! Also started thinking and researching the UI menus and the Navmesh we will be using for the AI
